Living the Dream

Post by Arrne05 »

OK, so my teenage daughter wanted a "new" wall unit in her room; actually an entertainment unit.

I was less than impressed and was at a loss as to how we could even get it in there given the lay out of the house.
Anyway, on the morning of Superbowl I bought it for her and spent much of the game ('s OK I was going for Seattle anyway) getting it through the front door and into the lounge.
It spent the last couple of weeks cluttering the lounge (it's roughly 1.9m x 0.75m x 1.3m and I'm in a maisonette) and partially blocking the front door and TV.
Eight days ago she got an ultimatum: By the end of the weekend just gone it would be out of the lounge and it was up to her whether it finished up in her room or the front yard.
I also pointed out that all this was going to cost her big-time!
Anyway she worked her butt off this weekend gone and the thing is in her room.

As I said she owed me big-time: I had mentioned a few times about the BSA going in the lounge but she vetoed the idea in no uncertain terms—paid in full!

Now I can finally start work.

So definitely worth the price of an entertainment unit then. :eyebrows:

Well, I've spent one evening working out how the footpegs work and where they mount.
Spent another sorting through boxes of bits I don't recognise, even with the service and spare parts manuals.
Found out that nearly all the gubbins are on the LHS and I had the RHS in the open. Fixed this on the weekend.
Found the aftermarket ammeter is too large, as is one of two identical aftermarket light switches.
1970's Japanese welding is looking very neat and tidy now.
I think the bike was designed by an idiot.

Still, looks good and I'm looking forward to doing something productive any month now.

Arrne.
